An Offer From Distant Web
When I started working on this site, it was with the intention to use the software itself for multiple sites/clients. Even before Scrub Radio shut down (the first time), I had intended to convert it to this software. However, a lot of things have happened and changed in that time, and I am at a major loss for what to do now.
I don’t know anyone anymore who actually wants to run a website; I myself have always been more of the architect, not the decorator. I’m not sure if that makes sense, but basically I have always been more interested in designing the software, and not so much populating it with content.
So I am looking for someone who wants to run a site, specifically a user generated site, but doesn’t know how or where to start. I would basically install a clean version of this site with its own CSS and image files, and you would tweak it to your liking and run it yourself. Any programming that needs to be done would be done by me.
Most of the sections/features of this site can be disabled or enabled at will. The back end area allows for a wide range of customizations.
For the most part, the only two things I would need from you are:
A) a bit of patience - programming can take some time, so not everything can be done overnight.
B) you would have to handle your domain registration - I don’t feel comfortable handling someone else’s domain name. But that can be discussed privately, and I would basically walk you through what needs to be done. ALL site owners should handle their own domain registrations.
Also, if you are looking for a specific feature, something that is currently not on this site, I can most likely do that for you.
My hope here is that we can help each other. I need help when it comes to suggestions; I constantly struggle with deciding how to do something because there are always so many different ways of doing pretty much anything. I don’t often trust my own opinions on how things should be displayed or what should be done. (This is kind of hard to explain, especially in such a generic way)
So if you see potential in what I have already done with this site, and would like something similar for yourself, please contact me and we can try and work something out. I can answer any questions or concerns you may have.
